The role is hers if she wants it.
Actress Emma Stone has reportedly been offered a lead role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Deadline says that Stone is the front-runner for the role and that’s hers to turn down.
However, it appears that contrary to previous reports that Stone will play the role of Mary Jane Watson. We’d heard her linked to the role of Gwen Stacy. And while Gwen isn’t cast yet, that doesn’t mean she’s out of the film. Deadline reports that casting for Gwen Stacy continues.
