With no other new movies opening, "Resident Evil: Afterlife" took the top spot at the box-office this weekend.

The movie took in $27.7 million in its opening. "Afterlife" is the fourth installment in the franchise and the first to be filmed in 3-D.

The actor who tried to warn audiences about "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" has passed away.

Kevin McCarthy passed away Saturday according to the Associated Press. McCarthy was 96.

McCarthy's acting career began in the Broadway play "Abe Lincoln in Illinois." The actor appeared in numerous stage and screen roles but is best known for his work in "Body Snatchers."

"Caprica" Return Moved to October

The good news is we won't have to wait as long for the second half of season one of "Caprica."

SyFy announced they are bringing the series back in October of this year rather than January as previously reported. The season will kick-off on October 5 at 10 p.m. as part of SyFy's new Tuesday night line-up. That means "Sanctuary" will move to Friday evenings following wrestling. Tuesdays will also feature the second season of "Stargate: Universe" as a lead-in for "Caprica."
