Kate Beckinsale took a break from the “Underworld” series and sat out the third movie in the franchise.
When news broke that fourth installment was headed our way, rumors began to swirl that Beckinsale would be back for the next movie. And now it’s official–she will be back in the lead role of Selene.
Producers announced the news last week. So that means the film has a star, a script but still no director. Ken Wiseman directed the first two and was a producer on the third. And according to reports, Wiseman is content to serve as a producer on the fourth film and have someone else direct.
The script is by written by John Hlavin with a touch up by J. Michael Straczynski.

Another chance to see Kate beckinsale in a s &m outfit?
As long as it's better than the 2nd one I'll be happy. Rise of the Lycans is still the high point of the franchise though; Underworld's "Empire Strikes Back" if you will.
I'll watch it. And there's even a chance I'll genuinely enjoy it. I do like JMS' writing and I'm a fan of Beckinsale.
Rise of the Lycans the highpoint? I don't know . . . I'm pretty sure I'll watch both of the first two movies again, whereas the third will not grace my Netflix queue again. But, tastes differ.
While I would love to see a fourth installment knock one out of the proverbial park, history does not inspire me with confidence. I cannot recall the fourth of any series of movies I've watched being good; in fact I cannot recall watching a fourth installment of any franchise.
yay!! i cant wait. all the movies were enjoyable
oh.. and here's a ((((HUG))))) for you Arkle!!!!
about time Kate returned the third film was good but lacked and differentiated from the original story, good to have a history lesson but lets see more of the original storyline please
