Irony, thy name is James Cameron.
A few weeks ago, Cameron was insisting that someday 3-D would become as common as sound and color in films. Until then, Cameron thinks that 3-D should only be used for the right kind of project and according to him, “Piranha 3-D” is not the right kind of project.
“I tend almost never to throw other films under the bus, but that is exactly an example of what we should not be doing in 3-D,” he tells Variety. “Because it just cheapens the medium and reminds you of the bad 3-D horror films from the 70s and 80s, like ‘Friday the 13th 3-D’. When movies got to the bottom of the barrel of their creativity and at the last gasp of their financial lifespan, they did a 3-D version to get the last few drops of blood out of the turnip.”
You may recall that Cameron was once fired from the horror franchise. He worked for a couple of days as director of the second installment.

Or, they release a ‘special edition’ with 8 extra minutes of “unseen footage.”

Double Dipping on a fair movie and he calls Piranha 3-D trash????
At least with P3D you knew what you were getting!!!!
Cheapens the media??? P3D would be less cheap in 2D??? This is ludicrous- P3D is a cheap B-move in any D and so what? If that is what people want so be it!!! I happen to think those are carp and are only worhty of a showing on Saturday night in SYFY with the rest pf the crap.
