What are viewers most looking forward to watching this fall?
According to a tracking survey done by the Hollywood Reporter, audiences are most curious about the new reboot of “Hawaii Five-O” and the new William Shatner led sitcom “Sh*t My Dad Says.”
That’s good news for CBS which will air both shows.
The news isn’t so good for NBC. The series “The Event” had led the survey the past two times it was given but has now dropped off completely. NBC has been heavily promoting the series and the show had a large push at the recent Comic Con and TCA press tour.
The TCA may be why the show has lost momentum. The show has not been met with glowing praise from critics. Of course, neither has “SMDS.”
Rounding out the top five most anticipated new shows were Fox’s “Running Wilde” and “Raising Hope,” along with CBS’ “Mike & Molly.”
NewMediaMetrics claims an 85% track record for ranking fall shows according to their eventual Nielsen ratings. Last year, measuring emotional attachment generated this Top 5 list for fall: CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Fox’s “The Cleveland Show,” CBS’ “Accidentally on Purpose,” CBS’ “The Good Wife” and ABC’s “FlashForward.”
Three of these were renewed, and “FlashForward” starting out promisingly (the survey missed, however, ABC’s breakout “Modern Family”).
Among returning shows, the report predicted CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” would rank as fall’s highest-rated program, followed by the network’s “Big Bang Theory” — despite its move to Thursday nights. In the No. 3 spot, the company predicts Fox’s “Glee” will make considerable gains over its ranking last fall.

"Audiences are most curious about the new reboot of “Hawaii Five-O” and the new William Shatner led sitcom “Sh*t My Dad Says"."
Really? Because I'm not. In fact, now since "Numb3rs" has been canceled, I'm not watching anything on CBS.
There are only two new series that I'm looking forward to this fall and they're both on NBC: "Undercovers" and "The Event".
@Kyle, I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses Numb3rs. I had never realized how much I loved that show until I found myself waiting for the 1am reruns on TNT
I really gotta get those on DVD... never thought about it until this summer, and I got S1 on sale at Amazon, but now I find myself *really* wanting to get the rest of the series.
I watch The Mentalist on CBS, and I'll give Hawaii 5-0 a shot just because of Alex O'Loughlin. I think Rob Morrow is in a new crime drama that'll be on either ABC or CBS, but I'm so not a sitcom person. Can't stand them anymore.
The only Network shows I'm interested in is Fringe and Glee maybe the occasional Bones. I'm watching House but I'm only on Season 2 with netflix. Of the new show promos the Event looks really lame. If it makes it to a second season and people are raving about it, I may check it out but the promos aren't selling me. The one new show I might give a chance is chase. Off the major networks, SGU is where the real action is for me and I don't even get Syfy, so it's still Hulu or itunes.
My grandmother loved Numb3rs, but I never got into it. She also failed to hook me on FarScape and Andromeda as well.
You should listen to your grandmother more... Numb3rs is a special show.
I wasn't hooked on FarScape, but I can honestly say I none of the episodes I watched (call it 25-50% per season) ever made me not care or want to stop watching completely. As far as Andromeda's concerned, little worthwhile happened beyond the middle of Season 2, so you can pretty much skip to the end, watch the last 2 eps of S2, and call it a wrap
Wow, I'm actually avoiding Hawaii 5-0 and SMDS like the plague. I just don't care. However, I'm actually excited to see what The Event brings. I guess this is why I watch mostly cable shows these days. Very few things that I'm interested in are aired on network TV. VIVA LA DAMAGES!
I will be checking out The Undercovers as well.

Actually, there was little worthwhile from the beginning to about halfway through Season 3. That was when the show really heated up, because the first half of the series was just kind of lame. The only reason I kept watching was because I hoped it would get better (it did, but man, I had to trudge through almost three years of it). It was the same reason I kept watching "BSG".
Numb3rs is ok, and I'm sorry that it was canceled. Watching the new AMC Rubicon with interest (cable not broadcast though). Rubicon is more like a cloak and dagger with a dash of X-files. Of course, the return of Fringe and Chuck are eagerly awaited.
