Cage "Excited" About "Ghost Rider 2"

Actor Nicholas Cage says he’s “excited” by the opportunity to step back into the world of “Ghost Rider.”

However, he is quick to warn fans that while the movie will be called “Ghost Rider 2,” it may not be a direct sequel.

“It’s a different trajectory, but it’s still the same guy,” he tells MTV News. “That’s all I can talk about!”

With a script by David Goyer, the second installment will see the duo that directed “Crank”, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, teaming up for this project.

“I’m very excited about those two,” said Cage of the “Crank” directing duo. “They’re originals, and they know how to make a movie look great, and they know how to use the camera. And I think they’ll have a fresh, a very fresh take on the character.”

Cage also made it clear that he’s not ripping on the first film when he heaps praise on the sequel.

“I’m not knocking the first one, whatever people think,” he explained. “I stand by that movie as well. I thought it was like a Faustian fairytale, like, if Disney were to make a movie about Faust, it would be in that vein, like a Western and a little lighter.”

Cage “Excited” about "Paying off the IRS sooner then I expected. Just keep going to see my crappy movies so I can get Uncle Sam off my back."

OK he didn't say that but I bet that's what he's thinking.
