Despite less than glowing reviews, midnight showings of “Twilight: Eclipse” set a record for a midnight opening. The vampire flick took in $30 million for midnight screenings.
That beat out the record set by “New Moon” of $26.3 million. Of course, part of that could be increased ticket prices for IMAX showings.
The latest installment about Bella, Edward and Jacob should be on track to open in the top spot at theaters this weekend.
