When news broke that Joss Whedon was directing the big-screen version of “The Avengers,” Mutant Enemy fans immediately began speculating on which Mutant Enemy alums could be up for rolls in the film.
One name that came up in a discussion at MTV was what about Nathan Fillion as Hank Pim, aka Ant Man.
Fillion says that should Whedon offer him the part, he’s up for it.
However, that doesn’t mean that Fillion has heard from Whedon about the role or asked his old friend about acting in “The Avengers.”
“There comes a point in time where one single man does so much for you that you can’t ask him to do anything more for you,” he said.
However, Fillion says he does appreciate the consideration for the role by the fandom.
“Maybe it’s because of my diminutive size?” he quips.
“I’m familiar with the character,” said Fillion. “I think Hank’s powers come in really handy when you have to slip into a crack to defuse a bomb somewhere that no one else can reach. … Or spying in girls’ locker rooms.”
“But knowing Joss, he’d give him something very clever, and very cool to do — something that no one can do without,” he laughed.
