There won’t be any last minute defeat this week. “How to Train Your Dragon” was the clear winner at the box-office this weekend.
The animated, -3-D movie took in $15 million on a relatively slow weekend at the movies. That was good enough for first place.
In second was the new romantic comedy, “The Back-Up” plan with $12.3 million. In third was another romantic comedy, “Date Night” which took in $10.3 million.
Unfortunately, “The Losers” proved to be an apt title for the film with the movie opening in fourth place with $9.6 million.
And in fifth was “Kick Ass” which saw a significant drop off in audience and took in $9.5 million.
Yay for Dragon! I have seen it three times so far, and will definitely be seeing it again at least once before it hits dvd.
