Filming on “The Hobbit” is set to begin this summer, according to a report on Coming Soon.
Actor Ian McKellan spilled the beans on his web site, saying the movie would begin filming in June. The update was later changed to July.
Directed by Guillermo Del Toro, production is expected to take at least a year and for two movies.
“The Hobbit” is the prequel to the popular “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
