The highest-grossing movie of all time is coming to home theater.
“Avatar” will hit DVD and Blu Ray on Thursday, April 22 reports MTV. The date is different than the usual Tuesday release date for new movies to help tie in to Earth Day.
On the release you’ll get the theatrical cut of the film…and that’s it.
There are no extras on the disc, including none of the deleted scenes that director James Cameron has been talking about since the film came out.
That may be due to an announcement about the movie scheduled for the next day, which could be a longer, extended re-release of the film later this year.
And then, of course, a super deluxe release special edition double-dip just in time for the holidays.

followed by the not-to-be-missed 4 hour director's cut, then the Avatar 1st anniversary edition (with special interviews with the actors' cousins and siblings), and the Ultimate Edition, with the new blu-ray feature where you can select the wardrobe of the Navi is enabled... just in time for Avatar II: Why didn't we just nuke them from orbit?
... i can hardly wait.
