For the second weekend in a row, movie audiences took a trip down the rabbit hole.
Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” claimed the box office crown for the second week taking in $62 million at the box-office. After having a record-shattering opening weekend, the film showed a 47% drop in ticket sales but that was still good enough to keep it far and above the other competition.
The next closest competitor was the new Matt Damon Iraq War film, “The Green Zone” which took in a disappointing $14.5 million in its opening weekend.
Next was the romantic comedy “She’s Out of My League” with $9.6 million followed by the Robert Patinson led “Remember Me” in fourth at $8.3 million.
“Shutter Island” rounded out the top five, breaking the $100 million mark in its first month in theaters with $8.1 million.
