Now that filming has begun on “Thor,” many of us are curious about how its going and looking for any tidbits of information about the upcoming Marvel comics movie.
Thank heavens for Twitter. The instant messaging service has given us a few hints of what’s happening on set from actress Jaimie Alexander. Alexander, who plays Sif, has been providing updates from the set via her Twitter feed.
In a recent twitter post, Alexander indicated that she is still training because she “must get even more fit before heading off to Santa Fe!” Since most of the scenes set in Asgard have been filmed in Los Angeles, this may mean that Sif will also be traveling to Earth during the film. Or it could simply mean that Santa Fe will also be used for external scenes in Asgard.
The production is entering its second month under director Kenneth Branaugh. And while there’s been a lot of filming done so far, co-star Kat Dennings tells Collider that she hasn’t had any scenes put to digital celluloid for the film.
“All my stuff is towards the end… towards the end of the shoot,” said Dennings. “I just can’t wait. Everytime… I remember when I had fittings like before I left I had a bunch of fittings and a bunch of hair and makeup tests and I was so excited. I would wake up like an hour or two early. Because I mean it’s Kenneth Brannagh man. I mean he is one of the greats. One of the legends.”
“It’s the kind of thing as a little kid that you want to do,” added Dennings. “I mean my brother had all those comic books and he had action figures and I grew up with that stuff. So, it’s almost like wanting to be a Princess. It’s like you want to be a superhero, too. It’s incredible. It’s such a dream. I really can’t believe I’m in this movie. I’m so excited. I’ve been thinking about it. It’s almost like when little kids know they’re going to Disneyland and they get really excited and start counting the days. That’s how I am.”
Dennings also confirmed reports that her character was created for the film and that her character will be a friend of Jane Foster, who will be played by Natalie Portman.
