Actress Julie Benz, best known to genre fans for her work on “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” as Angel’s sire Darla, has joined the cast of ABC’s pilot “No Ordinary Family.”
The series centers on a typical American family with super powers. “The Shield”‘s Michael Chiklis is already onboard to play the patriarch, Jim, a former aspiring artist-turned-police artist with special abilities. Benz, 37, will play his wife, a scientist with a power for super speed.
Benz has also featured recently on Slice of SciFi favorite “Dexter” and she had a recurring role on the current season of “Desperate Housewives.”

Awesome!! I dont know anything about the show but Julie Benz, I have to watch!! I've watched her in Buffy and Dexter and loved her performances. YAY!!!
I don't normally watch Desperate Housewives but watched it the last few weeks since I read the Julie Benz was a guest star.
If you are a fan of Julie Benz, you probably want to see last Sunday's episode. The character played by Dana Delany has an erotic dream about her roommate, played by Julie Benz involving maple syrup.
