If you’re looking for a good investment in the current recession, you may want to consider comic books.

In the last week, two rare comic books have sold for over a million dollars each.  Last week, a good copy of “Action Comics #1″ sold for a million dollars.  Now comes word that a copy of Detective Comics No. 27, which introduced the world to Batman sold for $1,075,500 Thursday.

The rare book sold through Heritage Auction Galleries and set a record for the amount paid for a comic.

Barry Sandoval, director of operations of Heritage’s comics division, says that the consignor bought the comic in the late 1960s for $100.
