More Direct to Home Theater D.C. Animated Movies Coming

With the upcoming release of “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” and the upcoming “Batman: Under the Red Hood,” the D.C. Animated universe’s future appears bright.

And it could get even brighter says writer Dwayne McDuffie, who scripted “Crisis.”

“I’ve written two more [animated] movies,” said McDuffie. “I can’t say what they are, although I’m dying to say what they are. They’re really cool. [Warner Brothers Animation] kind of likes to announce just the next [animated film] to keep focused, but I think people are going to be pretty excited.”

Warners has kept a tight lid on details for the upcoming projects, but given the track record, fans have a lot to look forward to, no matter what is coming up next.

Awesome news. I've really enjoyed most of DC comics' animated DVDs. Especially JLA: New Frontiers, Superman: Doomsday, and Green Lantern: First Flight.

An animated adaptation of either of Kevin Smith's Green Arrow arcs would be awesome. Either Quiver or The Sound of Violence could work. I bet the villain Onomatopoeia would be just as creepy in action as on the page.

I'm glad that DC is doing more animated stuff, but has anyone seen Crisis on Two Earths? It was sub par at best. Especially when you know they can/have done better. I so so wanted to like it. Crime Syndicate stories are some of my favorites, but I never thought it was possible but they made Batman sound and act lame.... sigh.
