This is the show where our loyal, adoring, and inquisitive fans and listeners get to hear us comment on their comments about our stories and comments… it’s the Circle of Entertainment Life!
We do want to hear your comments and feedback… No, really, we do! Pay no attention to how much Mike grumbles about them — you know, that guy sitting in the dark corner with all of the blinky lights, the knobs and the scotch.
This week, Mike, Brian, Tim and Bret respond to the questions and comments posed by your voicemail submissions, and as always, BEWARE SPOILERS!!

ok guys, when Fox Leader makes his tea bagging comment, he means the video gaming term. Tea bagging in gaming is when you humiliate the guy you just killed by humping their corpse…. popularized in Fox’s first love, Halo!! My obsessive compulsive side makes me post this comment….

Thanks, Crazy Joe, for that “My Name is Earl” info. My wife loved “Earl” and I enjoyed it as well. She was so sad when it was canceled and she couldn’t understand why. Now she has a place to direct her anger, and (when “Parks and Recreations” finally tanks) will the network admit they made a mistake and bring it back? Hmmm?
Michael Mennenga says
Thanks for the info Ian. Some of us did know that (Tim), but the sexual reference was just funnier. Sorry… Sometimes humor trumps info. 😉
Brian Brown says
Uhh.. I too have played my share of FPS and tea bagging waaaaaaaaaaaaay pre-dates Halo. It’s much more FUN to play ignorant and make it appear that it involves the non game version. *cough*

I might be mixing up shows (I was a few weeks behind, and have been listening to multiple shows in succession), but did I hear correctly the audio-only stream will go the way of 2D-movies? That video will be the only option offered?
Not that you guys (and gals) are anything but feast for the eyes, but some of us (me) burn the shows to CD and listen to them during our (my) commute. That’s the only chance I have to listen to the shows.
Yes, many people listen at work, but my job is not conducive to having my attention split between it and catching witty dialogue, hence it’s not an option for me, and my drive remains the only chance I have to listen.
A video feed offering is not conducive to playing on my CD player in my car. Not whining, but my life is also not conducive to watching video podcasts.
Any chance you might still provide the audio portion of the show? Any chance I heard wrong? Any chance I will not get slammed for failing to keep up with the latest trends in entertainment? Any chance the video feed might include various female cast members in bikinis?
Andrew McDonald says
I think you heard correctly but discontinuation of the audio *stream* doesn’t mean discontinuation of the audio *feed*. They were talking about the live audio that can be listened to on Thursday night. I can’t imagine they would discontinue the MP3 download from the website and iTunes. So I think you are OK.
What I would like to see is the video make it onto iTunes. I try to tune into the live video on Thursday but it’s not always convenient for me. I would really like to see it on iTunes so I could watch on my iPhone while I ride the exercise bike.
Brian Brown says
Andrew has it right. It is the LIVE streaming audio that will probably be going away in lieu of the video/audio stream on Thursday evenings.
We will continue to push out the finished audio to iTunes, XM and the website so NO worries at all in that going away.
Summer Brooks says
Andrew, are you subscribed to the Slice of SciFi Video News Feed?
We have video clips over there, from Slice News done by Mike and Brian, to Phoenix Comicon 2009 interviews done by Sam and Brian. It’s the iTunes/RSS feed of the videos we have out on YouTube and Blip.tv.
And rest assured, Mike has been bitten hard by the video bug… plans are underway to get the original Slice Video News clips back into production later this year.
The chances of putting an entire 60-90min long video of the live feeds out as a vidcast is unlikely… that’s a lot of bandwidth!
