The reboot of the Spider-Man franchise has an opening date.
The new movie will open in theaters on July 3, 2012.
And they’re going to film it for 3-D.
Sony announced both details yesterday and said that production on the film will begin later this year.
The movie will be directed by Marc Webb, who says he wants to follow a storyline similar to that of the “Ultimate Spider-Man” comic book line.
No word yet on who may be cast as Peter Parker, but some speculate that Sony and Webb want an “unknown” actor for the role.
