Prowse Beats Cancer

February 4, 2010 By Michael Hickerson 3 Comments

The man who inhabited the Darth Vader suit in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, David Prowse, was given some good news recently. He’s been declared cancer free.

According to the British paper, the Daily Mail, Prowse got the good news last month.

The former body-builder—and TV’s Green Cross Code—stunned doctors by making a full recovery after intensive radiotherapy at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

Speaking from his home in Croydon, Surrey, David said: “I’ve won the fight and I’m feeling better than ever. Everyone was shocked by how well it all went.”

Prowse has also appeared on the 1970’s “Doctor Who” serial, “The Time Monster” as the Minotaur. The six-part story is set for DVD release later this year in the UK as part of the “Myth and Legends” box set
