The new big-screen feature with Jim Henson’s popular Muppets is gaining momentum.
Yesterday it was announced that James Bobin will direct the latest installment featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy and a host of other characters.
Bobin is the co-creator of HBO’s “Flight of the Concordes.” Plot details are being kept secret, but Bobin is expected to bring a musical sensibility to the project, which is being produced by Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.
The new movie will come from a script by long-time Muppet fans Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller.
Bobin was given the nod after Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed last year’s “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” decided to pursue working on a big-screen adaptation of “21 Jump Street.”

(Arms way up in the air, mount wide open) YAAAAY!
Conchords... as in guitar chords.
Sounds good, but I think the Muppets actually work better in shorter bits.
But . . . .
A movie version of "21 Jump Street"? Really? Why?
Oh dear god... I can already hear Kermit singing "Business Time" to Miss Piggy.
