Director J.J. Abrams has made quite a reputation for himself when it comes to rebooting franchises. He’s done it twice now with the “Mission: Impossible” series and “Star Trek.”
So, when news broke that Sony would reboot the “Spider-Man” franchise with the next installment, it was only a matter of time until someone asked Abrams about it.
“When I first heard they were rebooting it, I thought, ‘Really?’” Abrams told MTV News. “Didn’t they just do it? Then I realized, ‘No I’m just old.’ I thought the first one just came out.”
“I guess it’s smart, I don’t know,” he shrugged. “I think, as the director of ‘Mission Impossible 3′ and ‘Star Trek 15′ or whatever it is, I’m probably the last one to speak badly about a reboot of anything. So… ‘Yay! Reboots!’”
