One of the biggest movies of the year is getting bigger.
“Iron Man 2″ will be released to IMAX theaters when it opens May 7.
According to a press release, a digital version of the superhero sequel will arrive in cinemas alongside the standard release of the film.
The movie was reportedly not shot using IMAX cameras. The movie will be converted for IMAX screens using DRM technology.
“The success of the first ‘Iron Man’ movie catapulted the franchise from the comic books to theatre screens, and we’re excited that the IMAX format will offer fans an even more immersive way to experience the sequel,” said Marvel Studios’ chief operating officer Tim Connors.
