"Thor" Release Date Moves Up

On this week’s Slice of SciFi, we’ll bring you news about the latest battle over who should be the villain in “Spider-Man 4.”

The controversy has proven to be good news for another Marvel property however.  With “Spidey 4″ in limbo and likely to miss its tentpole date to open the 2011 summer movie season, “Thor” has moved up two weeks to claim the slot.

The Kenneth Branaugh directed version of the Norse god will debut on May7 6, 2011.

The vacancy left by “Thor” will be filled by the latest installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
