New “RoboCop” Delayed

January 6, 2010 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

The current financial state at MGM coupled with disagreements between director Darron Aaronofsky and the studio have delayed production on the upcoming “RoboCop” remake.

The studio is said to be pushing for the new version to be filmed in 3-D, something that Aaronofsky opposes.

MGM is also facing financial difficulties in getting funding for the film.

Whether or not Aaronofsky remains on the project remains to be seen.  The delay and conflict could lead the director to pursue other interests.
