What’s next for director James Cameron now that “Avatar” is hitting theaters this weekend?
How about a new version of “Fantastic Voyage?”
The director told SciFi Wire that he’s currently working on a script for a reboot of the 60′s sci-fi thriller, though Cameron promises that his take will be very different.
“Well, we’ve been working on a script for ‘Fantastic Voyage,’ but that’s not for me to direct,” Cameron said. “That’s just a produced project, yeah. It’s quite different. But it’s got enough of the original story that you’ll still recognize it.”
Cameron went on to say that he’s also looking at the script for and taking the director’s chair for “Battle Angel Alita.” Cameron wouldn’t confirm anything but he did say that this was one of the projects he was looking at for his next directing gig.
