Disney’s latest animated feature, “The Princess and the Frog” won the box-office crown this past weekend, taking in $25 million at the box office. That total was $10 million more than it closest comeptitor according to USA Today. The release was the highest grossing December opening for an animted film since “Beavis and Butthead Do America” took in $20 million.
After climbing to the top spot last week, “The Blind Side” dropped back to second. The movie took in $15.5 million and continues the film’s solid box-office performance.
In third was potential Oscar contender, “Invictus” with $9.3 million.
“New Moon” was fourth with $8 million and “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” rounded out the top five.
