Open Thread — “Flash Forward” Fall Finale

December 4, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 10 Comments

Last night, ABC aired the fall finale for “Flash Forward.”

Because we won’t have a voice mail show for a few weeks, we wanted to give you a chance to sound-off and talk about the episode as well as the series as a whole.

There will be SPOILERS in this thread, so if you haven’t seen the episode(s) yet and don’t want to know, please don’t continue reading.

And please, don’t forget to play nice in the comments.

Well, now at least we know why he starts drinking.

I thought for a while the two guys with the ambulance were going to take Dylan and not Lloyd…

Some kind of retribution for Lloyd’s coming forward about the Flash Forward or as leverage against him.

Wait, they *didn’t* take the kid? Did I miss that? I figured the kidnappers were taking both to use Dylan as leverage in order to make Lloyd reproduce the Blackout. I’d always assumed that whoever caused the Blackout did it maliciously, but now that we know it was an accident, I’m thinking there’s someone who’s going to try and get hold of the technology to use it as a weapon or a tool of chaos.
Also, I was surprised that Benford is apparently going to shoot Noh. Mainly because Benford is the most annoying, stupid character on the show and I keep expecting someone to wise up and shoot *him*.

Do not fall into the lies and deception. The truth is parallel universes. The “future” that was seen was most likely a parallel one, not their own. Like on “Fringe” it will probably windup that people can cross over from one to another either deliberately or by accident. The only proof would be that their memories will not coincide with the universe they now are in.

Bronzethumb – I wouldn’t be too sure that Lloyd and Charlie caused it – think about what was built in the Sudan – nothing to do with those two…

I still think it was intentional and not Lloyd’s accident

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Chinese immigration officials allowed two armed representatives from a now hostile foreign government onto their soil? Or was this part of the plot? Did someone (i.e., the Persian lady) want them to have their guns with them, so that she could prove her point about Bennett shooting Noh? Come to think of it, the gun’s serial number would have been recorded if it was allowed through customs. She could have had someone provide it to her, or have found it out herself. Maybe some nefarious individual wants to sow distrust between the two FBI agents. Or it could just be a screw up from the writers. Guess we’ll find out.

There’ll be no jumping between parallel universes. Yes, what they saw in the FFs took place in a parallel universe, but only in the sense that by seeing what could happen in the future and then making different choices than they might have made otherwise would cause the timeline to skew off onto a different tangent and create an alternate future (remember the blackboard explanation in Back To The Future 2? It’s like that.)

Well, it looks like my source for BT Airline tickets to Canada to see Flash Forward–Mininova–has gone belly-up.
Anyone know of any reputable sources for Airline Tickets?

    Damn.

Actually, from the story line the flashback was not an accident. I would guess some group(that fellow who wanted that case of rings or the guy in the doll factory) knew what experiment was happening and use it in some manner to cause the flashback. And based some of the previews, another flashback is going to occur without needing the experiment to make it happen.

Steve-That would be the brane of the other universe coming back to slap ours.
