This week’s top box office earners look a lot like last week’s box office earners.
The top movie in America for the second weekend in a row was “New Moon.” Even with a drop of 70% from its record-setting opening weekend, the latest installment in the ‘Twilight” saga took in $42.5 million for first place at the box-office.
In second place was the new Sandra Bullock vehicle, “The Blind Side.” However, that film grew in box office receipts from last week, up 17% to take in $40.1 million.
Third place went to the end of the world thriller “2012″ with fourth place held by new comer “Old Dogs” with $16.8 million in ticket sales. Rounding out the top five was “Disney’s Christmas Carol” with $16 million.
One of the movies discussed on this week’s show, “Ninja Assassin” made its debut at sixth with a total of $13.1 million for the weekend.
The long delayed “The Road” made its debut to a disappointing $1.5 million over the weekend and ninth place.
