One of the most respected directors in Hollywood is teaming up with one of the best-selling novelists of all-time for a television event.
According to Variety, DreamWorks has acquired the rights to adapt Stephen King’s new novel “Under the Dome” for a mini-series. King will serve as an executive producer for the project along with DreamWorks partner Steven Spielberg.
The novel, which weighs in at just under 1,100 pages, tells the story of a small town in Maine that is put under a mysterious dome.
No word yet on where the mini-series may air. Variety reports that the project is being shopped to various cable outlets.
