Another Vampire Show Coming

November 5, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV News

mortal-instruments-seriesIf the current trend in television programming continues, at some point in the near future we’ll have little else on television but procedural dramas and shows about vampires.  Unless, of course, they do a procedural show about vampires…

With the success of “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries,” it was only a matter of time before another vampire based series was put into development.

This time it’s “The Mortal Instruments,” based on a series of novels by Cassandra Clare, Variety reports.

The story revolves around teenager Clary Fray’s search for her missing mother, which leads her to a city filled with mysterious fairies, raucous warlocks, vampires and other demons.

“Cassandra Clare has created a truly unique, imaginative and universally appealing world seen through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl,” said Robert Kulzer, who will produce for Constantin Film. Martin Moszkowicz will be executive producer.

Holy crap. Can we just limit the teen vampire stuff please?
And while we’re at it, can we bring back “Moonlight”? Oh, right. The lead’s in another show now.
Well, how about “Blood Ties”? What? Oh, I forgot. That got canceled too.
    WTF?!
    *sigh*

I wish they’d bring “Blade: The Series” back. They were at least able to finish off the first season, but it ended on a cliffhanger.

Vampires are not the main focus of that series. And last I heard they were making it into a movie, not a TV show.

I LOVED the Blade TV series.
Sure, there was a bit of cheese, but it had good action and decent writing…and because it was on SpikeTV late at night, they didn’t do a lot of censoring.

I do not care and will not watch it. I am tired of Vampires already
