“Sherlock Holmes” Steps Up for MacFarlane Sponsorship
Warner Brothers’ upcoming release of “Sherlock Holmes” will serve as the exclusive sponsor for this Sunday’s “Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show.”
The special lost its original sponsor last week when Microsoft pulled out after seeing the script for the upcoming variety show.
The special will feature MacFarlane and Alex Borstein in a variety of sketches and skits, including some of them in the famous voices of various characters from “Family Guy.”
Warner Brothers will run an extended look at the upcoming “Holmes” during the special, according to Variety.
The special will not have to have significant reshoots done either. The special was originally planned to integrate promotional moments for Microsoft and Windows 7 during the show. However, those are said to be isolated bits and not part of the larger skits.
No word yet on if the special will make reference to “Holmes” or not.
In other good news for MacFarlane’s animated productions, Fox gave the green light to a new season of “American Dad.”
