Is D.C. Following in Marvel’s Footsteps?

October 20, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

With news that production of “Green Lantern” has shifted from Australia to the United States, it now appears that the D.C. movie universe is taking a page fro the Marvel movie universe.

According to reports in The Times-Picayune, “Lantern” could film in and around New Orleans and the movie may be the first in a building block series of film toward an eventual “Justice League” film.

The manager of studio operations at the New Orleans-based Second Line Stages reported that producers for “Green Lantern” have contacted him about the studio space, and that “‘Green Lantern’ production offices could be set up in town as early as this week.”

The report indicates that “Lantern” could be the first in a trilogy of films that all lead up to “League.” The other films in the trilogy would center on “Wonder Woman” and “The Flash.”

When I saw the headline, “Is DC following in Marvel’s footsteps?”, I was expecting to read that Disney bought them too!
