Haley Not Cast as Sinestro–Yet.
Actor Jackie Earle Haley has brought to life some of the most iconic parts in the genre. His performance as Rorschach in “Watchmen” won raves from critics and fans and he’s set to take over for the immortal Robert England as Freddy in the reboot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”
So, when rumors sprang up yesterday that he was in the running for the role of Sinestro in the upcoming “Green Lantern” movie, the stories seemed to good to be true.
And it appears, for now, it is.
Haley has denied that he’s been cast as the main villain in the upcoming “Green Lantern” movie, but says that he would be interested once he learns more about the character.
“When stuff like that is on the Internet, when people suggested me for Rorschach, I got to play Rorschach. People suggested me for Freddy [Krueger], and I’ve gotten the wonderful opportunity to do that, so if I’m being suggested for this, I have to go see what it is. I’m very curious,” he tells SciFi Wire.
In other “Lantern” news, it’s been widely reported that the production will shift from Australia to the United States. This is due to the impact of inflatin of the Australian dollar making it no longer economically feasible to film the movie Down Under.
