Bell Doesn’t Like Sound of Her Voice

October 20, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

kristenbellxActress Kristen Bell may be lending her voice to the new animated version of “Astro Boy” but that doesn’t mean she loves the sound of her own voice.

“I can’t even hear it on an answering machine. I throw the phone across the room. It’s too high-pitched. I hear it all day, every day, so I’m over it,” Bell tells USA Today.

The actress, best known for her work in the title role of “Veronica Mars” and on NBC’s “Heroes”, is currently lending her voice to Cora, a runaway who leads a rowdy group of teen outcasts. She also does voice over work for the CW’s series “Gossip Girl.”

The actress says she has insecurities about her Michigan accent. If Bell is around any of her hometown friends, the accent returns.

“I think it’s something that everyone suffers from,” she says in an exaggerated nasal tone. “But I’m very comfortable inside the voice-over booth.”

What?! She has an amazing voice! People should look her up in Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical that they did on Showtime a few years back. She’s a wonderful singer, at the least. Maybe she doesn’t care for her pitch, but she sure can use it well.

I love her voice. Maybe her inside-the-head voice is even better though. :)
