Kevin Murphy has joined the production staff for SyFy’s upcoming “Battlestar Galactica” prequel, “Caprica.”
Murphy, who has written for “Desparate Housewives,” will be a co-executive producer for the upcoming prequel series. According to Variety, Murphy is already at work on his first script for the spin-off.
“As a rabid ‘Battlestar Galactica’ fan, it’s hard not to go in that writers room and not just grin ridiculously,” Murphy said. “These are the people who made the best TV show ever. To be able to be a part of the legacy of that show, I’d be willing to pay them for that.”
Murphy is also working on a television adaptation of “Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders” for the CW.

Jayson: So did I.
