Mitra Joins "Stargate: Universe" Cast

rhonamitraActress Rhona Mitra has been cast for a guest-starring role in the final three episodes of “Stargate: Universe”‘s freshman season.

Mitra will play a strong-willed commander of an alien incursion force. Kiva will do whatever it takes to safeguard her people even if it is at the ultimate expense of the Destiny crew, according to Gateworld.

Mitra will be in the final three episodes of the season, including the two-part finale.

Mitra is no stranger to the genre.   She recently appeared in the latest “Underworld” installment.

    I think it was pretty obvious that SGU was going to eventually have other alien races. I just hope they don't turn out to be as dull as the Geni (sp?) from SGA. Personally I want to see some technologically advanced civilizations. Now, assuming there is no big bad guy in this series then any life seeded in this part of the universe would develope with out any interference.

    I liked the Genii. What I didn't like were the Travelers. They seemed like a more advanced, but rehashed, version of the Genii. Not very original.

    I know it's been said many times before but originality is hard to come by these days in sci-fi so I don't look at that way. It comes down to weather or not a character, group of characters or their setting is interesting. I should also admit that SGU has given me hope that this will not be a re-hash of SGA.

    I really like this actress. She had a small role in The Chronicles of Riddick, along with Rollie (her husband in Defying Gravity). They were in Toombs' second crew. She is so buff.
