Today’s USA Today has a list of ten summer movies that they believe culd be in the running for a best picture nod when the Oscars come around next year.
As you may recall, the best picture field has been expanded for next year from five nominees to ten, so it’s possible one or several of these movies could make the final cut.
They are:
Up
The Hurt Locker
Star Trek
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
The Hangover
Julie and Julia
(500) Days of Summer
District 9
Inglorious Basterds
Sunshine Cleaning
Films that are genre-related are in bold.
