Last week, actor Tim Pocock ignited “X-Men” fans when he Twittered that filming for “X-Men: First Class” was moving forward and production would begin soon.
Not so fast, says producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who refuted the Twitter posting. Donner said ‘First Class’ has no scheduled start date and no actors have signed contracts to appear in the film however the various cast members who played the young mutants in ‘Wolverine’ were ‘under option’.
Donner also expressed an interest in reuniting the remaining mutants from the end “X-Men: The Last Stand” for a fourth installment in the series, but says that she hasn’t pitched that idea yet to 20th Century Fox. She also said that plans are moving forward on several X-related spin-offs including “Wolverine 2,” “Magneto” and “Deadpool.”
