Michael Hickerson says
Unfortunately, winning an Emmy doesn’t always mean your show will stay on the air. I think it’s good that Daisies was able to win the Emmys it did after being canceled by ABC. A lot of times, shows that are given the pink slip will be overlooked by the Emmys.
Sam Sloan says
Here are some of the other big winners from sci-fi/fantasy genre:
Outstanding Costume Design for a Series: “Pushing Daises”
Outstanding Creative Achievement – Interactive Media Fiction: “The Dharma Initiative.DharmaWantsYou.com”
Outstanding Makeup for a Single Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic): “Pushing Daisies”
Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score): “Legend of the Seeker”
Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series: “Battlestar Galactica”
Outstanding Special Class-Short Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs: “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog”
Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series: “Heroes”
Outstanding Stunt Coordination: “Chuck”
Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series: “Pushing Daisies”
and the biggest kudos of all not mentioned above —
Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series: “True Blood”
With 4 Emmy wins including best supporting actress, one is left to ask “Why in the hell isn’t Pushing Diaises still on the air?” Somebody want to give ABC a real Punch in the Junk for their stupidity?
