SciFi Scoop has an interesting rumor this morning about the identity of Spider-Man’s foe in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4.”
The web site reports that Spidey will face off against Mysterio and that the role could be played by long-time Sam Raimi favorite, Bruce Campbell.
According to the report, Campbell says he’s been offered a substantial part in the upcoming film, which begins production later this year. Campbell has had a cameo role in each of the first three Spidey films.
No word yet on which version of Mysterio Campbell would play if the rumor turned out to be true. The guise of Mysterio has been used by three different people in the Spider-Man universe.
Other villians rumored to be part of “Spider-Man 4″ include Electro and the Lizard.
I'm thinking that his popularity on Burn Notice might have helped with this. We all know that Bruce is a star but TPTB needed to figure it out.
