September 14, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: Film News

Chalk up another solid opening for a Tyler Perry movie.

The latest movie from Perry took in $24 million at the box-office over the weekend, easily enough to debut at number one.

In second was the animated, steampunk movie “9″ with a box-office gross of just over $10 million. The film opened last Wednesday and has, so far, taken in just over $15 million in box-office receipts.

Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” was third, followed by “All About Steve” in fourth and last week’s number one, “The Final Destination” in fifth.
