Great sci-fi will never be recognized by the Emmy's.
Upset? Why would I get upset? All that really matters is that I and other BSG fans deeply enjoyed the time they invested in watching BSG.
After Buffy couldn't get any nods for SMG or for Hush or the musical episode, I long ago figured the Emmys were not going to give any love to quality genre shows...
Hear Hear Michael! I agree totally. Emmy has not kept up with the craft of fine television production. I no longer consider an Emmy a valid award. Hush in Buffy and Don't Blink in Doctor Who were carefully crafted works of art on par with great television or even film of any genre or year. Grow up Emmy and embrace the quality shift of the last couple of decades....
I'm one of those people that though BSG tanked after season 2... so not surprised at all.
The finale season was mixed in my opinion. Some storylines excelled, others tanked. If a nod came for anything it would be for the acting and that would have been entirely dependent(I'm assuming here) on what clip of what actor was sent in. A bad choice would cause them to be passed over, but as for the finale season overall...I just don't think it warranted a nod...bits and pieces...yes...overall...no.
