Production on ABC’s “V” has shut down for two weeks starting tomorrow, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Warner Brothers and ABC announced the shut down yesterday saying they want to “take advantage of our November premiere to maximize creative opportunities and deliver the audience the best show possible.”
The shut down will not impact the debut of the series in early November according to reports.
Popular “V” news web site, Ilana’s V Page, reports the shut down may be due to a WGA dispute between the new show and the original creator of the series, Kenneth Johnson. At the heart of the issue is whether the new show is a reboot or a continuation of the original and whether or not Johnson will get an on-screen credit as the creator. And if he gets that on-screen credit, what financial obligation would the new series owe Johnson.
“V” is scheduled to debut in early November on ABC.

This is an outrage,. They took the actress that plays Juliette of of Lost so that she could be on this show and then they stop this show! What?!? I have decided that I am done with this V series that keeps jerking us around. Plus I remember the old show is/was better.

I hope this isn’t a bad omen. I was looking forward to this show.

If you haven’t seen the new series you can’t say the old one is better because you don’t have anything to compare it to. But I’m not surprised that the heart of the matter is money. Hopefully it will be resolved and the show will get back on track.

I agree, quit trashing something acting as if you have seen it when it is not even done yet. I agree this is not good and it will probably suck especially on ABC, but one can keep ones hope up!!!!. Between the WGA and others it is no wonder all production is moving out of the US.
