“True Blood” Keeps Topping Itself (Ratings Wise)

“True Blood” Keeps Topping Itself (Ratings Wise)

August 27, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

HBO’s summer series “True Blood,” is a hit.   The drama keeps raising the bar for ratings as the run up to the second season finale continues.

This week’s episode drew 5.3 million viewers for HBO, topping the record it set just last week.  Last week, the drama saw 4.5 million viewers tune in.

HBO has already given the green light to a third season of the series and hasn’t seen numbers like this for a drama since their signature series “The Sopranoes” was its height.

Glad to see a genre show doing so well in the ratings but I was more a fan of season 1 than season 2 so far. I think it’s moving too slow and gotten way too much like a soap opera. However, there are still a couple of episodes left so maybe they’ll get it back to where I’d like it to be.
