Actor Brandon Routh will join the cast of “Chuck” next year in a recurring role reports EW’s Michael Ausiello.
Routh will have a multi-episode stint as Shaw, a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah.
Routh is best-known for his potrayal of Clark Kent/Superman in “Superman Returns.”
“Chuck” returns to NBC early next year.
