I think the crew needs to make a mech warrior movie.

A great scifi flick. Went to the 1PM matinee and the place was sold out. For not much advertising, the word of mouth about this film has gotten out and is paying off in big box office. Of course the film’s biggest pre-opening advantage was those four very important words — Produced by Peter Jackson.

The film was true scifi in every good sense of the word and certainly didn’t disappoint.

Just saw it today and loved it, best movie I’ve seen in ages. Fun, interesting, original.

It was amazing. It even managed to have the old “human turning into alien” thing that 9 times out of 10 makes me roll my eyes and still hold my interest.

Easily the best Sci-Fi / Genre et al. I’ve seen all summer. But I haven’t seen Moon yet so it may not be the best. If I have a top ten list of sci-fi films somewhere it definitely needs revising now to unclude District 9.

I liked it but I wanted to like it more then I did. It was clever and I thought the apartheid allegory; though very obvious, was well done. The documentary style of D9 did not pull me out of the story as some have complained.

Somehow, the second half of movie lost momentum for me even though it had the most action. Also, I thought the bad guys were cliché cardboard characters.

A good movie but not a great one.
