1990s ‘Spider-Man’ Animated Series Goes Online

August 11, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: On the Net, TV News

While it may not be the best animated version of Marvel’s popular comic book character, “Spider-Man,” (that honor goes to the current “Spectacular Spider-Man”), the 1990’s Spider-Man series is still a lot of fun and well worth a look if you haven’t already seen it.

Running 65 episodes, the series ran originally on Fox Kids and has been featured in syndication since it left the airwaves.

And while it’s not out on DVD yet, fans can catch up on the series free and legally at Marvel.com. The site is offering streaming episodes of the popular series. The first episode, “Night of the Lizard” made its debut last week and new episodes will be posted Wednesdays.

Episodes feature a wide array of Spidey villains from the classic and modern era including Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom and Carnage. Spidey purists should be warned that the Hobgoblin shows up before the Green Goblin in the series.
