With little other blockbuster competition, “G.I. Joe: The Ride of Cobra” easily took the top slot at the box-office this weekend.
Despite not previewing for critics, the film took in a healthy $56.2 million in its opening weekend. Worldwide box-office results put the film over $100 million in its opening tally, leading to Paramount to give a nod for a sequel.
In second place was the new comedy, “Julie and Julie,” with third place going to last week’s number one, “Funny People.”

Hmmmm. Maybe the studios have something here. Don't give a mediocre film an early preview and watch the numbers soar opening day worldwide. Perhaps Terminator Salvation should have used that strategy as well.
