The celebration of the retrun of “Futurama” may have been premature.
Yes, we’ll still get 26 new episodes, but we may hear different voices when the series returns for its new seasons.
According to Forces of Geek, 20th Century Fox has issued a casting call for new actors to play the voices of the cast. And according to the call sheet, they’re not looking to recast one or two roles but the entire cast.
According to no less than cast members John DiMaggio [Bender], Phil LaMarr [Hermes] and Maurice LaMarche on their Facebook pages, a casting notice has gone out to replace actors DiMaggio, LaMarche, Billy West [Fry] and Katy Sagal [Leela].
The move could be a cost-cutting measure by 20th Century Fox and would be similar to moves attempted in the past with the vocal cast for “The Simpsons.”

No farking way. It’s the original cast or nothing. This is not like Star Trek where half the cast is gone. Every one of them is alive and ready to go, and this is just wrong. It was bad enough with the horrendous scripts they gave us with the four movies … Bad scripts plus new voice actors? Nope, I’ll pass.

No way that will just ruin the show 🙁

Can’t vouch-safe for the rest but I know that Katy Sagal is currently under contract for the new series Sons of Anarchy for the FX Cable channel and will be busy doing at least two new feature films over the next couple of years so her plate may be a bit full at this time.

According to Axed Podcast, FOX claimed that all of the actors demanded too much money.
So, all the actors asked for too much? All of them? Every single one of them? Are these guys really in the place to ask for a ridicules amount of money? And, if so, would ALL OF THEM ask for too much? Yeah, sorry, don’t buy it.
Epic fail. If this is true, I will not be wacthing the show when it returns
