Vaughan Leaves “Lost” Writing Staff

July 8, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV News

Writer Brian K. Vaughan has left the writing staff of “Lost” according to Robot 6.

When contacted about his decision to depart, Vaughan cryptically said, “My only official statement. I can confirm that I left Lost to become best friends with Olivia Munn.”

Munn is the host of G4’s popular series, “Attack of the Show” and is the cover model in the most recent issue of “Playboy.”

The departure may be for Vaughan to pursue big-screen adaptations of some his popular graphic novels and comic books. Vaughan has big-screen versions of “Ex Machina,” “Y: The Last Man” and a new King Arthur movie currently in development at several studios.

Vaughan served as an executive producer and story-editor on the show.  He wrote several episodes include “Namaste” and “Meet Kevin Johnson.”

the response was a joke that was actually started by Olivia Munn on her blog when she heard he was leaving the show

Good for him. I think the quality of Lost has been slipping downhill for a couple years now. It’s only got one more season left, so why not get out if he’s got more appealing offers?

Like all television series, Lost has lost its audience’s attention. Fewer people are following the show as were during its first season. Vaughan probably caught of whiff of the future of the show and wanted to make clean exit. Good for him! Some will say that the rats have begun to abandon ship, but he is just making a smart career change. Check out my first and recently released novel, Long Journey to Rneadal. This exciting tale is a romantic action adventure in space and is more about the characters than the technology.
